Scarlet Sword is a bold, triumphant fanfare imbued with Americana spirit. Originally composed as a concert opener for an Independence Day performance by one of the nine active-duty Marine Bands, the piece features a clear ABA structure: the A section establishes and reprises the fanfare, while the B section provides a contrasting, relaxed interlude. With its energetic fanfares and sweeping motifs, Scarlet Sword delivers an epic and memorable introduction.
